CANCELLATION OF LONG TAN SERVICE

Labor is bitterly disappointed at this decision by the Vietnamese Government.

Labor supports the Australian Government registering its deep concerns with the Government of Vietnam about this decision.

The service at the Long Tan cross site is a solemn event which provides an opportunity for Australian veterans and their families to pay their respects and to honour the sacrifices of all those who lost their life in the Vietnam War.

The cancellation of the service, at such short notice, is shocking and deeply upsetting for the veterans and families from both countries who have travelled to commemorate this important event.
