Encouraging more businesses to employ people with disability is one of the main goals I am pursuing in my role as parliamentary secretary.

Although the Rudd Government is instituting many reforms to help people with disability find work, we can not achieve this goal without the efforts of businesses.

Although there are still some businesses that have outdated attitudes about what people with disability are capable of, there are many that are doing excellent work to tap their potential.

The Diversity @ Work Awards recognise employers who have achieved excellence in employing people of diverse backgrounds, including those with a disability.

Attending these awards gave me a chance to hear from some of these employers and recognise their work.
